Grit is refusing to give up when life gets hard.

God View - The connection between grit and God's character, As shown through God's big story.

As we continue our journey through God’s Big Story, we take a closer look at the lives of Joseph and Moses. Both of these men trusted God through hard circumstances and would not give up. These are two heroes of the faith, and we hope to help kids see how their stories connect between Genesis and Exodus.
God has been faithful throughout history and has helped people get through and overcome incredible difficulties. God’s Son, Jesus, endured the pain of the cross and death itself so that we could have a forever relationship with God. God gives us the Holy Spirit to empower us to keep going, even when life gets difficult.

Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don't give up.” | Galatians 6:9, NIRV

Theme: The Bible Doesn’t Say That

Big Idea: Unfortunately, there are erroneous beliefs about God and Christianity that have snuck their way into modern church culture. These popular phrases or ways of thinking are in direct conflict with what scripture actually teaches. This 5-week series looks at different phrases the Bible doesn’t actually say, comparing them to what the Bible actually does say.

Week One
Text: Matthew 6:25-33
Topic(s): Priorities, Selflessness
Big Idea:
In this passage, Jesus calls for us to seek after the kingdom of God first, not ourselves; if we do, everything else in life will fall into place.
Week Two
Text: Philippians 4:10-13
Topic(s): Trust, Prosperity
Big Idea:
As Paul illustrates in his own life, when you rely on God, you will find satisfaction in whatever situation (good or bad) that life hands you.
Week Three
Text: 1 Corinthians 5:1-13
Topic(s): Accountability, Judgement
Big Idea:
Paul emphasizes to the Corinthians that God set up the church as a family where brothers and sisters in Christ should hold each other accountable.
Week Four
Text: James 1:2-4; Job’s Story
Topic(s): Perseverance, Suffering
Big Idea:
No matter what the cause of our trials, we know that God will use it to strengthen our walk with Him.
