What to expect
Planning to visit our Northwest Campus? Here are some frequently asked questions that will give you an idea of what to expect. If you don't see your question here, you can always call us at 210-523-1505, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
HOW LONG IS A SERVICE?
Weekend services are about 75 minutes. Services begin with a time of praise and worship, followed by a welcome by one of the pastors. A video highlighting opportunities to get involved is typically shown before a Bible-based message is shared by our Lead Pastor Jim Rion. All services end with a formal dismissal.
WHAT IS YOUR STYLE OF WORSHIP MUSIC?
Every service begins with a time of praise and worship as we celebrate our Creator and seek His presence. We encourage expressive worship, so feel free to clap and lift your hands. In terms of music, expect a modern mix of gospel, rock and pop, such as songs written by Hillsong, Jesus Culture and Chris Tomlin. You'll also hear original material from our Worship Pastor Alfred Gallegos.
WHERE DO MY CHILDREN GO?
We want your children to enjoy church, and that's why we insist they attend fun and age-appropriate classes designed just for them. We realize you might not be comfortable leaving your child somewhere new on your first visit, so you are welcome to attend classes with your child until he/she has adjusted. Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early in order to register your kids using our Children's Check-In system, which allows us to keep track of all children in our care, and gives us a way to contact you if your child needs attention. You can also use the system to alert us of your child's allergies, medical conditions or special needs.
IS THERE A SERVICE FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS?
We offer services and small groups designed specifically for middle school and high school students at 9 & 11 AM Sundays and 7 PM Wednesdays in our Student Center. Visit blvdstudents.com to learn more about Boulevard Student Ministry.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
Some of our guests like to wear their Sunday best, while others prefer more casual dress. We don't have a dress code. Just come as you are.
WHAT DOES ASSEMBLY OF GOD MEAN?
Assembly of God (AG) refers to our affiliation with the General Council of the Assemblies of God, the world's largest Pentecostal denomination. It was founded as a result of a religious revival in the early 1900’s and organized in a constitutional convention at Hot Springs, Arkansas, in 1914. Doctrinally, the church emphasizes personal salvation, water baptism, divine healing, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and the second coming of Christ. The Assemblies of God also believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and provides the rule for faith and practice. Read in-depth about our beliefs and get more information about the Assemblies of God by visiting ag.org.
